What is CheeseSlice?
Cheese is something I hold dearly to my heart. Growing up whenever my Dad would cook food that involved cheese (which was most of the time) he would always give me a slice as a little snack to hold me over until it was ready. This act probably seemed insignificant at the time but meant the world to me. In life everyday you have opportunities to pass on a little kindness or happiness at no cost to you. Do you take that moment or let it go by?
My desire to write and share my thoughts comes from two places – #1: I am so tired of having to dig through false narratives, ulterior motives, or the same viewpoint copy and pasted across 20 different websites to get some semblance of reporting on current events. Although I may not be able to report on every issue that matters to me, I will ensure I always give my biased (because we all are) honest opinion. If I am interviewing people who I don’t agree with I will always allow them the space to share their opinions to have a genuine discussion.
#2: I have always had this burning desire to share. Whether it manifested as being disruptive as a child in school or always having some sort of YouTube or Twitch channel (that I would inevitably delete out of shyness). I am now 25 years old and deeply regret all the times I didn’t listen to my heart and stick with it.
My main goal with CheeseSlice is to document my life and share my thoughts, experiences, and passions with others. I also created this blog as a evolving example my design, marketing and photography/videography skills in hopes of growing it from a hobby to career! If you liked what you read and see then feel free to subscribe / drop a follow on my socials, your support means more than you know!!!
TLDR: whenever I post an article that is my cheese slice for you!
Who is CheeseSlice?
Currently CheeseSlice is written/edited/published by one guy named Kevin O’Connor (me)! I am 26 years old, born in Portland, OR and raised in the surrounding metro. I am very very VERY fortunate to have a wonderful family – fiancé Lola, my daughter Colette (or Coco) and my cat and dog – Wesley and Lou.
I have too many interests and hobbies but if I had to name the few I am hoping to focus on in the coming years and document it would be – photography, videography, cycling, the outdoors drawing/design and philosophy!
