The loss of third spaces is the motivation behind creating that ourselves. Group rides, bikepacking trips, events/races, skills training, community activism, potluck/BBQ hangouts, and much more!
Cheesy Cycling Club is more than just a social club. It is a place for everyone to enjoy community rooted in cycling, regardless of experience, gender, age, or race.

Cheesy Cycling Club Group Ride

Event info:
Date: August 29th, 2026
Location: Ladds Circle
Time: Meet up 8:30am / Roll out 9;00am

For the first group ride as Cheesy Cycling Club I thought it would be fun to combine some of my favorite places and segments and make it into a route. stretching almost 35 miles and 1,500ft, this route is about 60% road, and 40% gravel/mixed terrain. I would recommend a tire that’s at least 32c or a bike in general you’re comfortable climbing and riding gravel with!

Route:
Cheesy.cc Route #1 – https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56616144
Starting at Ladds Circle where there is an option for coffee (support local!) we then will putt over to Forest park for a classic Portland hill climb. After that we will descend either Germantown road or Springville road (depending on how we are feeling) and across the St. John bridge into… the St. John neighborhood! From there we will grab a bite to eat (I am biased and will always want tacos) and relax for a little bit. Next is my fav part, the cutty/trailblazing part of the route where we will follow some train tracks and sneak around on bascially hobo trails. We are then spit out near Marine Drive where we will “ooh” and “ahh” at the water before bombing down Vancouver ave to our end point a.k.a the best socks around – The Athletic.
